Before joining CCT, I was a partner at Family First Law Group, PLLC, in Alexandria, Virginia, and my practice focused on estate planning, estate and trust administration, and guardianship and conservatorship. I also served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Virginia Attorney General’s Health Services Section from 2010 to 2012, advising several state agencies that provide services to persons with disabilities.

Prior to joining CCT, I served as a trust and estates attorney at Sands Anderson PC and TrustBuilders Law Group from 2017 to 2023. My practice focused on estate planning and trust creation and administration, with an emphasis on special needs trusts due to personal experiences with special needs issues in my family.

Our Client Services Staff Who Set Us Apart

Written by

Jessica Morris, LCSW

Client Services Clinical Manager

We know individuals with disabilities have options when it comes to choosing a Pooled Special Needs Trust, but we at Commonwealth Community Trust (CCT) work with the intention of providing the highest quality services in the business. How do we stand out among leading providers of trust services? CCT’s Client Service Coordinators include knowledgeable master’s level social workers with experience in the mental health, child development and disability fields. CCT also maintains a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) on staff, assisting with management of the Client Services team to ensure thoughtful and compassionate delivery of service.

The unique skills our team brings allow us to approach our fiduciary role with sensitivity and understanding, going beyond a purely financial perspective. Knowledge of the challenges our beneficiaries, their loved ones, and their caretakers face influences decisions we make from a holistic viewpoint. While Pooled Special Needs Trust (PSNT) management heavily focuses on maintenance of income and medical benefits, as specialized trust administrators, we view the human aspect as determiner in our considerations.

Our team actively works with beneficiaries and their advocates to use funds to make certain needs are met, quality of life is maximized, and benefits are secure. This process may include connecting with external case management services and, when appropriate, coordination with other service providers. CCT strives to be the PSNT of choice through providing a team of caring and competent professionals, focused on creating a warm and efficient trust experience for all.
