Matthew VanderGoot has represented emerging growth companies and their investors for more than 20 years. He counsels startups and growth companies throughout their life cycle, from seed and venture capital financings to growth equity deals, tender offers, recapitalizations, and mergers and acquisitions.
In addition, Matt advises investor-side clients, including venture capital funds, hedge funds, investment advisers, and strategic corporate investors, on all stages of venture capital financings, as well as PIPE transactions.
With strong roots in the Capital region, Matt advises clients nationally and abroad on corporate governance and securities laws, often providing guidance on the interplay of those issues with employment and compensation arrangements, and intellectual property.
Prior to joining the firm, Matt practiced in the Emerging Growth and Venture Capital group at DLA Piper.
