A pianist who played in Montreal recently is now thirty-thousand dollars richer, and more importantly, has a wealth of impressive performing opportunities awaiting him, after he won a prestigious music competition, le Concours musical international de Montréal (CMIM).
Every three years, pianists come from all over the world to tickle the ivories in the Canadian city celebrated for its international music scene. Their goal is to move large audiences with their playing, and impress a panel of music judges who can make career boosting decisions for the young musicians.
Spotlight producer Paul Larson speaks with some of the competitors in this report.
