As Toronto prepares for Taylor Swift's six sold-out Eras Tourshows next month, the city is gearing up to capitalize and use every opportunity to boost the economy.
The One of a Kind Show, a bi-annual market featuring works by makers, artisans, and designers from across Canada, has announced it will host a Taylor Swift-themed day on November 22, while the global superstar is in town.
"One Of A Kind Winter Show (Taylor's Version)" will offer free friendship bracelet-making workshops, a performance by T-Swift cover band Afterglow and a silent disco called Club22. The show is asking all Swifties to "come dressed to impress in your DIY Eras inspired outfits for a chance to win great One Of A Kind prizes!"

Meanwhile, the city has just announced its preparations for the big event. The six concert dates are expected to generate approximately $282 million in revenue for the city's economy.
Along with designating a downtown route as "Taylor Swift Way" during her time in Toronto, the City’s Poet Laureate Lillian Allen and Youth Poet Laureate Shahaddah Jack will present T.O. Poets Department, featuring free "poetry-inspired pre-concert programming."
Some of the family-friendly and free public activations include Roaming Pop-Up Poets features Toronto poets reciting poetry along Taylor Swift Way, City Block Poetry, a chance for the public to engage with Toronto poets at the locations of Nathan Phillips Square, Campbell House and David Pecaut Square, and Street Talk Stencils, which features poetry by six established, new career and youth Toronto poets stenciled along sidewalks of Taylor Swift Way. Using QR codes, passersby will be able to digitally experience the poetry in animated form and learn about the poets. More information can be found here.

And as previously reported, Taylgate ’24, a safe and accessible space for Swifties to gather and celebrate by making bracelets, dancing and singing along before and during the show will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre’s North Building from 1:00PM to 11:00PM on November 14 to 16 and November 21 to 23.
