Ukraine received about $400 million from the IMF under the Extended Fund Facility Arrangement

The State Budget of Ukraine has received the eighth tranche of about USD 400 million (SDR 300.47 million) from the IMF under the four-year Extended Fund Facility (EFF) Arrangement.

On March 28, the IMF Executive Board approved the seventh review of the EFF.

"Over two years of the EFF program, Ukraine has successfully passed seven reviews, securing over USD 10.1 billion out of the USD 15.5 billion provided by the program. In total, during the full-scale war, the State Budget has received USD 12.8 billion in financial assistance from the Fund. We continue to actively implement the jointly agreed reforms under the program," said Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko.

For 2025, the IMF’s EFF Arrangement envisions up to USD 2.3 billion in financing, subject to four program reviews.

On March 31, 2023, the IMF Executive Board approved a four-year Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program for Ukraine with funding of about USD 15.5 billion (SDR 11.6 billion). 

The program is part of an international support package for Ukraine that currently amounts to about USD 148 billion for 2023-2027. 

Since the start of the full-scale russian invasion, the International Monetary Fund has been the third largest provider of financial assistance to Ukraine, after the European Union and the United States.
