ROCK'in Weekly Update
Message from Split Rock Elementary School Principal
What a wonderful week we've had! We were thrilled to welcome author, advocate, and kindness ambassador Mr. Stanley Tucker for a visit. Engaging doesn't even begin to describe the experience! Our students participated in an inspiring school-wide assembly and enjoyed individual grade-level sessions throughout the day. Mr. Tucker shared a powerful message with our Wildcats about the importance of kindness and making a positive difference. See our pictures below!
I’d also like to congratulate our September “Wildcats of the Month” award winners! Your dedication and hard work have truly shined through this month. In addition, a special shout-out to Mrs. Reynolds’, Mrs. Lockwood’s, and Mrs. Binn’s classes for winning the “Pack Awards” for September. Your Positive Action and Wildcat Spirit (P.A.W.S.) are commendable—keep up the amazing work!
Looking ahead, we still have a few more safety drills to complete next week. We appreciate your continued support in helping us maintain a safe environment for our students.
I hope everyone has a restful weekend, and we look forward to coming back next week ready to go!
BE AWESOME!
Mr. Kimpland

Miss Giannino's ADA-PEP Counselor News
Split Rock Families,
Another great week of getting to know your children at "The Rock". Here are a few updates I would love to share.
- Over the next few weeks I will be visiting our kindergarten classrooms for social emotional learning lessons. Students will learn about my role as a school counselor, identifying feelings/emotions and learning new coping skills.
- Any students new to Split Rock will join me for a weekly lunch group starting next week. This group helps new students feel welcomed and learn about Split Rock.
- Split Rock offers weekend Power Pack bags. These bags are filled with small snacks and easy meals such as mac and cheese for kids. If you are interested in receiving a weekend power pack for your child please contact me.
Please feel free to call or email me anytime with questions, concerns, or with any information you think I should know about your child. Another great way to contact me is through ParentSquare.

Fall Dance and Dance- A - Thon
The Fall dance/dance-a-thon is upon us. We ask everyone whose child/ren plans to attend the dance, to sign them up on Member Hub with the QR code. You will also receive a flyer shortly that will be sent home with your child. Sign up is completely free. We ask that you sign up your child/ren so that we have an accurate count of attendees and can order enough pizza for everyone. Pizza and drinks are free! If you need a gluten free pizza option, please email the PTO at wgsrpto@westgenesee.org.
If you want to donate for the fundraiser, there are two places on the site to do so. One is a general donation, and the other is a "per dance" donation. Once you sign up your child/children you will be able to search their name under either donation spot and donate in their name. Participation in the fundraiser is completely optional. If we raise $5000 we will be able to slime Mr. Kimpland.
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to us at any time and we would be happy to help.
