RECIPIENT
The Nourishing Our Neighborhoods program enhances food-rescue organizations' capacity by funding refrigerated vans to transport fresh food to communities in need. Now in its fourth year, with 44 vans donated as of the end of 2023, the program supports food redistribution, rescuing 20,000 pounds of food weekly per van.
Your company must be an FMI Member to submit a nomination. Food retailer programs, supplier programs, and programs where food retailers and suppliers partner together may submit nominations.

The Shelby Report serves as a strategic partner for the FMI Community Uplift Awards. The Shelby Report will be advising on the awards process, serving on a panel of judges and helping to amplify the stories of the FMI Community Uplift Awards recipients.

The GIANT Company awarded $300,000 to projects that address food waste prevention, reduction and recovery across its operating area. For Stop Food Waste Day on April 26, 2023, The GIANT Company partnered with Flashfood to divert six million pounds of food from landfills.
