Washington, D.C. – Unlocking America’s Future is launching a digital and television ad campaign urging Montanans to tell Congress to side with everyday Americans over greedy billionaires and say yes to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) new climate risk disclosure rule. The campaign is part of a six-figure advertising buy across Arizona, Montana, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia.

“The SEC is taking an important step to ensuring companies disclose crucial information about the risks they create for small business owners, farmers, and those saving for retirement,” said Kyle Herrig, spokesperson for Unlocking America’s Future. “Greedy billionaires and the self-serving politicians in their pockets are already trying to block these new transparency requirements. Americans should demand that Congress side with Montanans and their families, not wealthy CEOs who prioritize profits over people.”

Earlier this month, the SEC issued a rule that would require all U.S. publicly traded companies to disclose information about greenhouse gas emissions and climate-related risks in their registration statements and annual reports.

Greedy billionaires and self-serving politicians want to hide financial risks from Montana farmers, investors, business owners, and people trying to save for retirement.

It’s all part of a plan to keep you from making the best decisions with your money. But here’s the thing… you earned that money, and you deserve to know the risks when you invest it.

Tell Congress to say no to billionaires and say yes to the SEC’s climate risk disclosure rule.
