Storme McKop represents startups, growth companies and the venture capital and private equity funds that invest in those companies. She concentrates her practice on venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and private equity. Storme enjoys drafting deal documents and analyzing complex provisions and applicable corporate law provisions. Storme began practicing law at one of Canada’s largest and most prestigious law firms, working on large scale M&A deals.
Storme is engaged in and has co-founded diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Her alma mater, University of Calgary, profiled Storme and lauded her DEI work in “UCalgary alumna hopes to inspire other Black females to pursue a law career” (2022). Storme founded the Alberta chapter of the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers and served as its Vice President. Storme participated in creating and implementing new procedures associated with the Black student application process at University of Calgary Faculty of Law, where she continues to serve as a member of the Law School’s General Admissions Committee.
While in law school, Storme was the founding President of the Black Law Students’ Association (BLSA) chapter at the University of Calgary, also serving as the national communications director for the Black Law Students’ Association of Canada.
Storme received her J.D. (2019) and B.A. (2015) from University of Calgary.
